The Linden Tree:  Sculpture with Clay   Moses in the Bullrushes, by Trent, who was quite interested in everything Egyptian. This is in gray clay, which turns white when it is fired. The end of each of the rushes had to be scratched with a small wire brush then coated with a dab of slip (clay mixed with extra water to the consistency of butter). The spot where it is attached has to be treated the say way. If this is not done, the two pieces will separate when they dry. The slip bonds with both pieces and effectively welds them together.
